How Postcodes Affect The Cost of Hiring Tradies in Sydney.
How postcodes affect the cost of hiring a tradie in Sydney is dependent of which part of Sydney you live in!
The map above indicates a divide between the north-east of Sydney and south-west of Sydney – The map displays areas with prices above the average in red and areas below the average in green.
Living in some Sydney suburbs can send the cost of hiring a tradie upwards. Industries that have been included in this analysis are Electricians, Plumbers, Carpenters, Concreters, Builders and Painters in Sydney
The serviceseeking.com.au and propertyobserver.com.au websites have stated that towards the end of 2018 the cost of hiring a tradesperson in Sydney began to decline – residents of the Inner City, Inner West Sydney, Eastern Suburbs of Sydney and the North Shore were paying up to 140 percent more for tradies than those living in the South and West of Sydney.
‘The closer you get to the inner city and eastern suburbs, the higher the charge out rate. The most expensive suburbs are clustered around the inner city, east and north; most of the south and west (and outer north-west) of the city is the land of “milk and honey” (ie cheap tradie prices’ – Service Seeking Website: https://www.serviceseeking.com.au/blog/customer/pricing-guides/latte-line-where-you-live-drives-up-cost-of-hiring-tradesmen/
“Tradies continue to lift their rates for customers they perceive as being better able to pay higher prices. Property prices align with this trend too” – Jeremy Levitt, CEO of ServiceSeeking.com.au
The cheapest prices for tradies are in Horsley Park, Silverdale, Wentworth Falls, Bass Hill, and Mount Riverview, where the average cost of a tradie across 10 main industries is below $70/hour – Compared with the Blue Mountains, Milperra and Horsley Park, where the average cost of a tradie can reach as low as $60 per hour.
There are also pockets of low charge-out rates in the north and east, which Levitt puts down to either “a low demand for renovation services or a perception that residents in these suburbs can’t afford higher prices”.
Painters in Sydney
From our point of view, the competition is hot, and in order to keep our prices competitive and maintain a high-quality painting service, we must stay tuned to the changing developments which include the housing market and change in population, as these factors can affect the average hourly rate of Painters in Sydney and also other trades.
We have experienced a drop in the minimum hourly rate for Painters in Sydney that we believe is a direct result of cheap and sometimes unqualified labor – By accepting this cheap labor, anybody looking to have commercial, retail or residential painting completed will see a decline in quality and overall a drop in professional painting standards in Sydney.

interior painters sydney
When most people think of painting the interior of their home, they cringe, it can seem daunting to someone who has no experience in house painting.
There’s a lot to consider i.e whether to paint the interior with a brush and roller or to spray.
Using a professional spray gun is much faster, but there’s more time spent on taping the edges of windows and doors, to avoid any paint spray.
Will you mask up the whole interior before painting? Or will you decide to wing it, and paint without taping?
residential painters sydney
It’s normal for residential painters in Sydney to specialise in exterior painting, interior painting, plastering, mould and damp treatment,

something you and your family can relate to, other than the same old.
